HOISTS
Hoists are temporary construction elevators that are powered vertically by electricity driving a cage on a rack and pinion system to quickly carry goods or passengers to a given floor level. Hoists come in various configurations and sizes which are defined by site space and also the loadings they will subjected to.
Hoists are an integral part of any project logistics, as they provide the key to vertical material distribution, from small lightweight hoists designed for materials only, to large passenger/goods hoists distributing glass stillages and internal fit out materials.
The ability to move materials swiftly across a project, and remove waste from floors results in a safe, well maintained, and efficient construction project. Hoists provide the perfect solution to meet these needs.
In 2015, Hoists & Masts Ltd joined the PHD family, providing Building Hoists and Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs) to supplement and support the core business of Scaffolding and Access.
We have worked on a variety of locations across the world, including UK, Ireland, Denmark, Dubai, and the Bahamas, for many construction sectors including residential, commercial, heritage and rail.
Our iconic hoist projects include innovative access to the escalator shafts at Farringdon Station and Bond Street Station as part of the Crossrail development, One Ocean Hotel on Paradise Island in Bahamas, and the Hilton Hotel at Gatwick Airport.
