High Street Quarter is a brand-new development of one, two and three-bedroom homes in the centre of Hounslow. Built around a new public square with shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. Fast transport links are just a few minutes’ walk away, making central London easily accessible. This new district will link the existing High Street to the Blenheim Centre to create a vibrant new destination in West London.
WHAT PHD SUPPLIED
PHD provided comprehensive access solution for Barratts London to facilitate the construction of the 4 new residential blocks, retail units and brand-new cinema. This included the use of Readylok System independent scaffolds to provide safe access for all follow-on trades to complete the build process.
PHD also used Layher staircases to provide safe access and egress to and from the scaffold. Combi safe netting was incorporated in the erecting process of the blocks as an extra measure to keep the public safe from potential falling material.
CHALLENGES
The biggest challenge faced during the project was the complex design of the tower block. The balconies were of a unique design and staggered from left to right requiring precise design detail and the scaffold to be beamed at various levels to allow complete access to whole façade of the building.
For the taller 37 storey tower PHD used Layher All-round system scaffold to expedite the build process. Although the project was prolonged due to the Covid-19 pandemic PHD remained on budget.
