Quantity Surveyor
Location: Dunboyne Co. Meath with regular visits to the project locations.

We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Irish Business on a full-time permanent contract.
The successful applicant will be predominately based in our head office in Co. Meath, however they will be expected to travel to meet the needs of the business. This role will operate between both the office and site as they provide support to the wider team.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversee the measurement of work to maximise the value of applications to our clients
- Reviewing programmes in respect of delays, disruption, damage and subcontract programmes and ensure as-built records are maintained while the appropriate policies and communications are issued in line with contract requirements.
- Manage the administrating applications for payment up and down stream along with payment of subcontractors to ensure positive cashflow where possible with fair valuations.
- Responsible for the commercial management of contracts and the cost reporting of contracts
- Present final accounts and additional cost applications
- Compile and produce subcontract documents
- General contract administration in line with our contract obligations and notices of change for any requested work that would be a variation to contracted work
- Assessment of subcontractor’s applications for payment
- Assisting with monthly valuations and the preparation of variations
- Maintain variation logs for client and subcontractor variations
- Compilation of tender documents and procurement strategy
- Assist the estimation team with estimate preparations
- Always behave in a manner fitting to the business ethos and always maintain the Company’s standards both internally and externally
- Act as a brand ambassador and lead the Company through its ongoing expansion
- Any other duties as deemed necessary for the efficiency of the business
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Degree qualified in either a Quantity Surveying or a Construction Economics discipline
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a fast-paced commercial environment
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally coming from a main contractor/specialist contractor.
- Excellent contractual understanding and experience.
- Must have solid commercial and financial awareness
- Excellent analytical and planning ability with exceptional numeracy skills
- Strong understanding of financial and budgetary control (labour and subcontractors)
- Must possess exceptional time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and complete a wide range of tasks
- Highly proficient level of IT literacy to include Microsoft Office
