PHD donate food to Hillingdon Food Bank

Published: Jun 3 2021

Over the course of a week, PHD Access, along with Overlay Events asked their employees to donate food towards Hillingdon Food Bank (HFB).

The Hillingdon Food Bank (HFB) provides short term and emergency food to families in the borough going through difficult times and crisis. HFB is built on compassion, integrity, and commitment to restore dignity and give hope. It was the first food bank in London when it was launched in 2019.

It was fantastic to see everyone from all three companies get involved in bringing food like tinned fruit, soups, jam, spaghetti sauce and biscuits, as well as toiletries and household items. All together we donated 57.7kg of items.

PHD believe it is a human right to be able to feed yourself and your family, but 1 in 5 of the UK population are currently living below the poverty line, and this number is expected to rise due to the struggles of finding work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sofia, Marketing Executive for PHD said,

We decided to set up a food bank donation within the office to help those who are currently struggling. The COVID-19 pandemic has hit a lot of people hard and they’re struggling to feed themselves and their families. We hope that the donations we’ve made this week benefit those who really need it. It’s the least we can do.
