A huge congratulations to Abdi Shireh who was awarded ‘Best Exteriors Apprentice’ at Berkeley’s Apprentice Awards 2019.

The Apprentice Awards ceremony took place on 17th October 2019 at The Bridge Theatre. The event itself provides a chance to celebrate great apprentices and to showcase the very best of the built environment sector. The award was presented by Alison Dowsett; Managing Director of St William.

Abdi is currently studying his NVQ Level 2 in Scaffolding, Accessing Operations and Rigging apprenticeship and working at St George’s Chelsea Creek. The judges said:

“Abdi is working on our St George’s Chelsea Creek, where he keeps exceeding expectations. He’s already been awarded accolades by his employer, and we were similarly struck by his hard work and dedication. He’s been able to take classroom learning and apply it to real-life situations seamlessly and is a fantastic example to others.”

Danny Dwyer, managing director, said, “PHD are tremendously proud of Abdi. He has shown a real enthusiasm for learning in his apprenticeship whilst also working extremely hard. He 100% deserves his award and I know he will go far in his career.”

Well done to Abdi for this fantastic achievement!
