London Irish return to Premiership after exhilarating win over Yorkshire Carnegie!

It was party time at the Madejski Stadium as London Irish secured an immediate return to the Premiership following a 55-48 victory over Yorkshire Carnegie in the second leg of the Greene King IPA Championship Play-off Final.
“My overriding emotions are relief and happiness,” said Nick Kennedy, the London Irish director of rugby.
“We did make it hard work but Yorkshire came out swinging and scored more points here than any other team has. We’re delighted to be back in the Premiership, which is where the club belongs, and we couldn’t have done it without our supporters” he added.
Bernard Dwyer, owner of the PHD Group, has said:
“The PHD Group are absolutely delighted for the Exiles and we are committed to supporting the team through continued sponsorship next season”
London Irish will secure £2million in the return to the Premiership. With just more than three months before the Premiership resumes, the race will be on for Irish to recruit new players and secure existing ones on new contracts. But, with a squad already containing more than a dozen internationals and highly-rated teenage winger Joe Cokanasiga, selected in England’s squad to tour Argentina next month, the foundations are there.
