Facebook Gets A Face Lift In Meath

PHD continue to pick up international work and are currently providing access to the new Facebook data centre in Clonnee, Co Meath, Ireland. The project is being managed by MACE.

PHD erected 2 environmentally friendly and low energy ALIMAK Scando 450 20-32 Passenger / Goods Hoist & a Layher System Staircase. Machines were ordered and custom manufactured for this prestigious job.

As construction is now becoming more vertically challenging there are some great advantages to using goods/passenger Hoists and Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs)
MCWPs allow efficient work on the façade of buildings where conventional methods may be uneconomical. They are in many cases more convenient to use than other forms of access equipment such as ladders, scaffolding, staging or suspended cradles.

In many countries, MCWPs have become the ‘latest access revolution’. Especially for buildings over 20 storeys, savings over traditional scaffolding can reach to 40% on fixed installation costs and to 50% on contract duration. These can be achieved with 30% less operatives.
