Hurricane Matthew – Bahamas Emergency Rescue and Reparation Effort

Published: Nov 9 2016

PHD’s Bahamas Country Manager, Eddie Donaghy, was called upon to provide an urgent response to the recent Hurricane Matthew rescue and reparation effort at the Atlantis Bahamas on Sunday, 9th October 2016.

It so happened that Eddie was on the island visiting projects on behalf of PHD Group (Bahamas) Ltd.

All the hotel guests were moved to safety in the convention centre and the hotel building was secured to ensure minimum damage to the building.

Eddie is currently surveying the damage and organising an emergency response crew including scaffolders and abseilers to be flown out of the UK. Further, urgently needed specialist access equipment has been air freighted from the UK to ensure the work is carried out as a priority for a valued client. All PHD scaffold structures withstood the battering of the 145 MPH winds

PHD has a long history of working with the owners of the Atlantis Resort since its construction stage in 1997.
